I suspect that some other unindicated hot spot might trigger that or that the limited configurability in the omen tool is the culprit: it appears that you can configure the fans to ramp up according to either the cpu or gpu temps but not both at the same time. hence the jet behavior if your game is either cpu or gpu taxing.
